Luau's

September 25, 2020

We get asked often about our Luau recommendations. Our honest opinion about Luau’s is that most of them tend to be over priced, very touristy and not worth the money. We can’t say that we have ever been to a Laua where we felt like we got our moneys worth. The food is normally mediocre at best. The entertainment and cultural experience can be interesting and fun but you may be able to get this at other forums. We certainly are not discouraging you from booking a Luau, especially if you have never been to one. We are just saying that if you are on a budget or have limited time, you may want to spend your money on other activities like a Manta snorkel or nice dinner or other excursion. If you still decide to partake in a Luau, I would recommend getting on a current review site like yelp to see what the current reviews are. If you do book, please confirm the exact location and make sure it is on the Big Island of Hawaii and close to our condo. Lots of these companies paused or went out of business during Covid, so if you go be sure to check recent reviews. I am sorry I can not give you more advice on Luau’s but I wanted to give you my honest opinion. Mahalo Nui
